Youth Adventure Program (YAP): Corpus Island Adventure

College Station

YAP offers 1-week courses in College Station. The YOUTH ADVENTURE PROGRAM (YAP) is a series of one week courses designed to encourage career exploration in fields of interest to gifted and talented students. YAP is held on the College Station campus of Texas A&M University. Although no admission criteria are utilized, applicants should be highly motivated to learn, think, and solve problems and should have a strong interest in future college, university, and/or professional school attendance. Only one course is selected per week of attendance, and applicants are admitted on a first come basis. website:

Baylor University Baylor’s University for Young People

(UYP) Waco, TX

University for Young People is a summer enrichment program (takes place in June) for rising first graders through rising twelfth graders. Younger students meet at an elementary school to study an interdisciplinary theme such as Structures where they discover the many structures that are involved in building a new city. Older students attend classes on the Baylor campus from the sciences, social sciences, fine arts, and technology. website: University of Young People

American Robotics Academy

Our mission at American Robotics Academy® is to excite, inspire, and motivate young people, in a fun way, about importance and impact of robotics technology in today's world.Our classes teach students to understand "how things work" through hands-on activities that demonstrate the principles of simple and motorized machines. They gain experience with design and problem solving through the use of gears, motors, wheels and axles, pulleys, and remote control devices.

The Library Foundation's Badgerdog Creative Writing Program allows kids and teens to work with professional writers in a creative, fun, and challenging setting. Our workshops introduce young writers to various genres, techniques, and strategies writers can use to create meaningful work. Students build confidence as writers, speakers, and thinkers, and become more versatile and skilled writers. Game Worlds

Game Worlds teaches kids the skills to make video games! Real game developers guide kids ages 9-18 through a crash course into how games are made, then students work as a team to create all of the code, design, and art for a video game of their very own!

Lone Star Leadership Academy

Outstanding 4th-8th graders travel to Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin/San Antonio, or Houston/Galveston to spend a week exploring significant Texas sites with facilitating educators and other distinguished students. Participants develop leadership skills, self-confidence, and independence, build friendships with like-minded students from across the state, and gain experience for their academic resumes.

Bricks 4 Kidz

Our half-day enrichment camps feature exciting themes and specially-designed models and lessons unique to Bricks 4 Kidz, as well as LEGO® games galore, and plenty of time for creative building, so the kids are always having fun. Camps are designed for kids ages 5-12, and are staffed by trained, screened Bricks 4 Kidz teachers.
